Gabriel Silba of Danbury was arrested around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of 345 Main St. by the Danbury Police Department for charges stemming from a violent crime, which was witnessed by a plainclothes detective, said Danbury Police Det. Lt. Mark Williams.

Detective Len LaBonia was driving an unmarked police car on Main Street when he saw Gabriel Silba and another man engaged in an argument.

As LeBonia exited his car to intervene, he witnessed Silba stab the other man in his stomach. After doing so, Silba attempted to flee the area but was quickly apprehended by the detective, Williams said.

It was later determined that the stabbing was related to Silba robbing the other man of a pair of boots.

The adult male victim was transported to Danbury Hospital via ambulance where he was treated for his injuries.

Silba was arrested and charged with robbery, larceny, assault, and breach of peace. He is being held on $250,000 bond
